Obituary for MALDONADO

Gloria A. Maldonado, 56, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 1, 2010. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born on March 11, 1954 in Belen, New Mexico to Amado Lueras and Teresa Navarro Ortiz. Gloria is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Stan Maldonado; daughters, Melanie Aranda and husband James, Alicia Lueras Maldonado and husband Jerome, Cellina Sedillo and husband Jose; grandchildren, Amadi, Gabriella and Carlos; siblings Rose Cutrer, Patsy Lueras, David Ortiz, Tomas Lueras; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Gloria studied nursing and holistic medicine and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, beadwork, gardening and travel. She was a creative and caring woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family would like to extend gratitude to all their family and friends for their love and support. We will remember Gloria's laugh and the great stories she always shared. A memorial for Gloria will be held at Calvary of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna NE, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Salon Ortega, 1701 4th Street SW.
