Obituary for MOBLEY

David M. Mobley born September 27, 1949 in Albuquerque, NM, passed away on June 26, 2010 after a long illness. David served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 through 1976 and this was the proudest time of his life. He survived a tour of Vietnam and received a National Defense Service Medal, a Meritorious Unit Citation and a Vietnam Service Medal and was a devoted member of the armed forces. After his honorable discharge from the service, David suffered a traumatic brain injury which resulted in partial paralysis. He moved to Tucson, Arizona and continued his education at Pima College where he also volunteered many hours as an advisor in the Veterans Services Department. David was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters and is survived by sisters, Nicki Bertenshaw, JoAnn Grimes, Judy Smith, Patty Bowers, Kathy Hess; and one brother Mark Mobley. David's lively and talkative presence will always be remembered and lovingly missed. A committal service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Arizona State Veterans Home, 4141 N. 3rd St., Phoenix, AZ 85012.
