Obituary for WILLIAMS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday June 29, 2010

Charles "Charlie" E. Williams Jr., age 60, went to be with our lord on Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born and lived his whole life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 38 years, Helen; his loving son, Charles E. Williams, III; his loving daughter Krista M. Thompson and her husband Kevin; and his beautiful granddaughter Savannah Rose, his "pretty girl". He is also survived by his father, Charles E. Williams, Sr., his sister Linda Ferguson and her husband Wade, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Williams. Charles was proud to have served in the U. S. Army after graduating from Sandia High School. After devoting 35 years to Qwest Communications he retired in 2008. However his passion was spent at the State Farm Soccer Complex @ Santa Ana Pueblo. He enjoyed taking care of the grounds, tournaments and everything to do with soccer. Charles was a quiet, caring and generous man. A crossword master! His world revolved around his family, and he made our world brighter just by being in it. He brought joy and love to our lives every day. Be at peace my husband, father, Papa, son, brother, uncle and friend. You will be loved and missed by all that knew you. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at French - Westside Chapel.
