Rosie Chavez, 70, a life long resident of Albuquerque, NM went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday June 27, 2010. Rosie was born to Placido and Angelita Chavez on January 1, 1940. Rosie is survived by her children Angela Reyes and Robert Chavez; grandchildren Francisco and Alexis Chavez, and Phillip Reyes; sisters Rita Gurule, Nellie Salazar, Mary Alice Fierro and Martha Abila. Rosie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Frank Chavez; her parents; grandson Mario Chavez; and brothers and sisters. Rosie loved spending time with her grandchildren playing cards or board games. She enjoyed going to the casino and watched the Young and The Restless faithfully. Rosie will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the 8Th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd, SW, with Interment at 1:00 p.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery.
