R. Velma Miller went to be with her Lord on June 10, 2010 at the age of 89 in Carmichael, CA. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 11, 1921 to Bruce and Esther Bohrer. She graduated from Long Beach Poly High and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Ned W. Miller. She was a homemaker and they raised their two daughters in Torrance, CA. They then retired in Hesperia, CA, after building their dream home. After her husband passed away she moved to Albuquerque for eight years and then back to CA for the last nine years. Velma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Donald Rumley, of Rancho Cordova, CA; son-in-law Richard Michna; five grandchildren, Dawnella Michna, Wendi Hogstedt (husband Kevin), Rochelle Michna, Jeffrey Michna (wife Diana) and Traci Pettet (husband Bryan); great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Audrey, Gwendolyn, Rachel and Laurel. She was predeceased by her husband of 50+ years; and daughter, Marlene May Michna. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
