Judith R. Harris, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, John I. Harris; sister Delores Geter and husband, Robert of Rochester, NY; brother, Marvin Rouse and wife, Brenda of St. Paul, MN; aunt, Nellie Jennings of Elmira, NY; daughters Pamela Myers and husband, Michael and Jennifer Breter and husband Tim, both of Ormond Beach, FL; and Nancy Todd and husband, Coleman of Cocoa Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rovina Rouse; father, Louis Rouse; and brother, Delmar Rouse; all of Elmira, NY. Judith graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam as a Violin Major. Judith taught instrumental music in the Fayetteville-Manlius Schools near Syracuse, NY for 21 1/ 2 years. She relocated to Albuquerque with her husband, John in 1986 and served as the Executive Director of the Sickle Cell Council of New Mexico for 13 1/2 years. Judith was an active community member, volunteering on numerous boards and committees serving thousands of people throughout the state of New Mexico. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Metropolitan Temple Church of God in Christ, 1120 2nd Street NW. Visitation hours are 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by the Funeral Service.
