Obituary for LEIKER

Lula C. Leiker, age 85, formerly a resident of Albuquerque, went to her Eternal Home on May 24, 2010. Lula was born May 10, 1925 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to Earl and Naomi Berry, one of eight children. She moved to Albuquerque at a young age where she met and married the love of her life, Alfred P. Leiker. Together they had five children. They were married for over 50 years before he preceded her in death in November of 2000. She remained in Albuquerque until 2006 when she went to live in Dallas, Texas with her daughter. Lula is survived by her son, Alfred L. Leiker, and his wife Barbara of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary Harrison, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Gladys Hansen, and husband John of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Mark W. Leiker, and wife Vanessa of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester Berry, and wife Rosie of Vancouver, Washington; and a sister, Marie Lawson, and her husband Alfred of Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; a daughter, Linda Johnson; and by five of her brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. N.E. in Albuquerque from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, Rev. Kenny Smith officiating.
