Mary Casias Jaramillo, "Elvie", our loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was born June 23, 1926 in Valencia, NM to Maria and Eustacio Chavez. She passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Casias Sr.; her son, Paul Casias; a brother, Ramon Chavez and a sister, Erlinda Sanchez. Mary is survived by her five daughters, Lillian Gomez and husband Frank, Dolores Valdez and husband Art, Reina Casias, Carol Lucero, Eva Martin and husband Emery; three sons, Carlos Casias and wife Connie, Ramon Casias Jr. and wife Robin, Eric Gallegos and wife Alyssa; daughter-in-law, Trudy Dry Water-Trujillo and son Matthias; Jennie Lujan who was always there for her grandmother; her brothers and sisters, Clovis Chavez and wife Dixie, Tony Chavez and wife Ramona, Betty Spangler, Carmen Simmons, Ruth Cooper, Mary Silva and Tina Gonzales; sister-in-law, Josie Chavez; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Mary gave much love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always easy going and had many friends. She loved going to the Casino and being around her family members and friends. Mary enjoyed her outings and she had two wonderful pets, Husgie and Milo. Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW. on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Casias III, Pete Lucero, Gene Sanchez, Andrew Sanchez, Joey Lujan and Paul Lujan. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Casias and Geno Chavez. The family would like to thank Dr. Kassicieh for his compassion and loving care and they would like to thank the Dr.s and staff of Presbyterian Hospital for all of their wonderful attention and care.
