Lucy Candelaria, 86, was a Loving, Caring, and Beautiful Mama, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was deeply devoted to her kids and grandkids and always sought to teach them to "be good". A member of Sacred Heart Parish for over 40 years, she helped around the church in countless ways including cleaning the church and arranging the altar. She Loved singing with various choirs throughout the years, and praying and singing with the Legion of Mary. She prayed every day at home too, and though she took life seriously, she loved to laugh and joke. One of her pastimes was baseball and her favorite teams were the Dukes and Braves. Lucy is survived by her brother Gil Candelaria and wife Flora; son Louie Sanchez and wife Christina; daughter Marie Yvette Pedroncelli and husband Mike; four grandkids: Robert, Evelina, David, and Carlos; and seven great-grandkids: Rosicela, Gabriela, Miquela, Emiliano, Israel, Milahna, and Santiago. Join the family for a celebration of her life at Garcia's Restaurant, 4917 4th St NW (near Griegos) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
