Ernestine Montoya, 92, former resident of Espanola and Albuquerque, NM died April 23, 2010 in Peoria, AZ. Born and raised in South Central Colorado, she moved to New Mexico with her family in the late 1930's. She is survived by four children, Pauline Montoya-Bowman of Kauai, HI, David Montoya and wife Judy, from Surprise, AZ, Tommy Montoya from Espanola, NM and Rick Montoya from Espanola, NM. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; and six brothers. She was preceded in death by her grandson Shawn Bowman and former husband Leo Montoya. A wake service will be held Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Fr. Augustine Moore celebrant of the Mass.
