Obituary for DUGAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday May 12, 2010

Dr. Robert Perry Jr., age 78, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lynne; his son Bob III and wife Alisa and kids Robby IV and Bailey of Albuquerque; daughter Cheri and husband Ted Rifkin and kids Riley and TJ of Durango, CO; sisters Carol and husband Ross Rhoads of Charlotte, NC and Connie and husband Dave Voss of Laguna Niguel, CA; and many nephews and nieces. Bob moved here eight months ago from Palm Desert, CA with Lynne to be nearer his family. He devoted his life to the service of Jesus Christ at the early age of seven. Bob graduated with honors from Wheaton College, and then Fuller Seminary in CA. His first church was in Rochester, NH from 1959-63, then Elmhurst, IL from 1963-70, Denver, CO from 1970-78. He ran for U.S. Congress in 1976, then became Director of Public Affairs and V.P. for National Assn. of Evangelicals in Washington, D.C. from 1978-2000. He counseled with every President from Carter to Clinton as the Champion for Christian Causes in America. He was a hero to his bon Bob III and grandson Robby IV as they share his name and destiny. We all loved him and miss him so much, but know his homecoming in Heaven is a brilliant glory in Christ. A Memorial celebration will be held at Calvary Chapel in the Hub, 4001 Osuna NE on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 12:00 noon.
