Obituary for STONE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday May 07, 2010

Brian Ray Stone, (Stoney) (aka Mr. Field and Stream), a native Texas was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was born in Macon County on November 12, 1934 and descended into the presence of the Lord on May 5, 2010. He ran the roads from Tahoka, TX. to Levelland, TX., back in the 50's. This was his hay day. He was a cotton farmer well into the 60's, had a great career with Farm Bureau Insurance before he retired as a Yellow Freight Driver. Brian was preceded in death by his mother Dona Tuckness Stone; and son, Jason Keith Stone. Brian is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Doris Stone; sister, Judy Carole Shearer; and brother, Stanley Stone. He was first a "born again" Christian then a beloved father to his son David Stone, wife Susie, daughters Carissa and Dawn; his son Daniel Stone, wife Holly, daughter Erin, son Daniel, great-grandson Kyah; stepson, Brent Stroman, wife Brenda, daughter Kourtney and son Kris. Brians parting words "I rode my last horse" may hold true for the time he spent here on this earth, but as the book of Revelations (19:11-19) tells us "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war......And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.....And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS". A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie, Texas. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Macon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas with a reception to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
