Beverly A. Coons, born October 16, 1923 in Springfield, Massachusetts, died peacefully of natural causes at her home in Albuquerque New Mexico on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Her 86 years included a brief career as a chorus line dancer on Broadway, a World War II pilot in the Women's Army Air Corps, a restaurateur, and Secretary of the Springfield Kings American Hockey League team. Bev married Dr. William E. Coons Jr. on June 21, 1947 and they spent 52 years together, primarily in West Springfield and Wilbraham, Massachusetts. They retired together to Albuquerque in 1990. Bev was a loving mother to five children: Mary Ann Pagnutti of Sudbury, Ontario, Charles V. Di Sciacca of Quincy, Mass., William E. Coons III of Albuquerque, Kristi E. Dutcher of Albuquerque, and Gregory A. Coons of Wilbraham. She adored her sons- and daughters-in-law; her 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
