Benito Silva Jr. "Sonny", born in Albuquerque, NM April 1, 1946, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the VA Hospital at the age of 63. Sonny is preceded in death by his father, Benito Silva. He is survived by his mother, Mary Agnes Craig; sisters, Rebecca and husband, Arthur Morales, Betty and husband, Victor, Agnes M. Stapleton, Eleanor Cordes; four nieces; seven nephews; aunt, Estefanita Sanchez of Seattle, WA; Dan Silva of Denver, CO; aunt Emeline Silva of Denver, CO; as well as other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Sonny graduated from Manzano High School, joined the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and the Merchant Marines. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 99 for 39 years.
