Elizabeth "Betty" Mitchell, 88, long time resident of Albuquerque and current resident of Tijeras, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 1, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Martin and Cheryl Cox and husband Gary; grandsons, Justin, Steve, and Jim Cox, and Michael Martin; and her great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Richard Leverenz. Betty had a great love of the outdoors and gardening. She had a talent for floral design. Her children have wonderful memories of the parties she hosted as they were growing up. She will always be remembered as a lover of life and all its creatures. She especially loved sitting on her porch and watching the bunnies and bears. A private family gathering will be held.
