Ennis Walker died March 6, 2010, at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born November 3, 1922, in Heidenheimer, Texas. Ennis was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, and after going back on active duty in the U.S. Army, served with distinction for over 33 years with overseas tours in Europe, Viet Nam, and Taiwan as a liaison with the Chinese National Army, before retiring in 1977. He is survived by Peggy, his beloved wife of 67 years; daughter Joel Anne and husband Richard Courtney; son, Dennis, and wife Suzan; grandson Lieutenant Christopher Courtney of the U.S. Coast Guard, and wife Erica; granddaughter, Erin, and husband Jonathan Cwanek; and three great-grandsons, Noah and Ayden Courtney, and Ethan Cwanek. A celebration of his life will be held at Northeast Church of Christ, 11000 Paseo del Norte, N.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Friday March 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
