Obituary for DOTY

Frances Doty, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1999, died on Sunday, February 21, 2010 from complications following a stroke. She is survived by her loving daughter, Amy Homicz, and her husband Greg, of Albuquerque; daughter Joanne Bager and her husband John and daughter Elizabeth of Lancaster, NY; sisters Tillie Errick and Helen Stoltz of North Tonawanda, NY; and many nieces, nephews, and friends in Western New York. Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Doty. Fran was born in Wendelville, NY, and was a secretary during her working life. True to her heritage growing up on a farm in Niagara County, she loved sewing, gardening, and preserving fruit, jams, jellies, and relishes for her family. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling throughout the country. Her family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Fran over the past six and a half years. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 6:00 p.m., at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 7834 Tennyson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM, with the Rev. William Ingraham officiating. Fran's final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM. Friends may make memorial gifts to the Church of the Good Shepherd Music Program at the above address.
