Obituary for BOYCE

Nancy C. Boyce, one day short of 66, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at her home after a valiant struggle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Bill; mother, Jane Sadler and husband, Rudy of Albuquerque; brother, Fred Cook of Albuquerque; sister, Joan Hansen and husband, Lee of Albuquerque; and other relatives and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her birth-mother, Elizabeth Randolph; her father, Stearns Cook; and brother, Randy. She was born on February 26, 1944 in Silver City, NM and graduated from Manzano High School in 1962. Nancy went on to graduate from UNM with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and an MBA from the Anderson School of Business. She proudly served two years active naval duty during the Vietnam era as an Aide to the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet, stationed in Honolulu, HI. After her naval service, Nancy returned to Albuquerque and worked for Harrison Schmidt's campaign for Senator and later was a staff member on his team in Washington D.C. Nancy and Bill retired to Albuquerque in June of last year, after a number of years in Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ, and Geneva, Switzerland, where Bill was assigned. Nancy was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and as per Nancy's request, no memorial service will be held. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the team of physicians at Hematology and Oncology Associates and to Presbyterian Hospice for their loving care for Nancy.
