Obituary for MILLER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 21, 2010

Willetta C. (Billie) Miller completed a 91 year adventure of life at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. She began her adventure on Christmas Eve, 1918 in Winfield, Alabama. Her early adult life was spent as an Army wife, making a home and raising a daughter and son where ever the army sent her Army Pilot husband. When her husband retired from the army to pursue a second career at the U.S. Army Aviation Test Activity at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, Billie became a dedicated member of the local community participating in and supporting numerous local charitable activities until her husband died in 2003. At this point, suffering from Alzheimer's, she sought and found a soft place to land at the Montebello in Albuquerque. For the past seven years she has enjoyed the highest quality of life which someone with her disability could wish for. She will be missed by the many close friends she developed at the Montebello during this time. She will also be missed by her many friends in Alabama. Billie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford and Mr. Joe Crawford of Albuquerque, NM; her son, Mr. Keith Miller and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joni Miller of Rolla, MO; grandchildren, Mr. Clinton Crawford and fiance Sheree J.
