Lawrence Chavez, 82, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 17, 2010 with his loving family at his side. Mr. Chavez is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Rose; his daughters, Gloria Nieto and husband, Ruben, and Bernadette Irwin and husband, Darren; his brothers, Nano Lucero, Ralph Chavez, and Lolo Chavez and wife, Alvita; his grandchildren, David, Renee, Ronald, Christopher, Erica, Amanda and Hunter; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2010 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m., by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Monday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren Irwin, David Gonzales, Ronald Landavazo Jr., Christopher Landavazo, Ruben Nieto and Michael Archuleta.
