Wilma Ruth Bedwell, 88, a long time resident of Albuquerque and native of Kansas, died at home on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Roy. Ruth is survived by her children, Ronald Bedwell and wife, Millie of Valpariso, IN, Linda Peerman and husband, Edward of Clarksville, TN, Nancy Bennett and husband, Stan of Albuquerque, Jeanette Clum and husband, Jeff of Round Rock, TX; ten grandchildren, JoAnna Gourley, Ronnie Bedwell, Alisa Willis, Melanie Porter, Jason Bennett, Rob Bedwell, Tiffany Shaw, Jeremiah Clum, Jonathan Clum, and Jeanelle Clum; seven great-grandchildren; long time friends, Jean Hollenbach, and Dyke and Mary Jane Tuttle; her loving caretakers, Lisa Montoya, Jeanette Perkins, Sondra Ramirez, Nikki Spader, Reuben and Yolanda Saiz; and many extended family, friends and neighbors. She was the superintendent of the Kirkland Base Nursery and Preschool program for over 20 years before retiring from UNM where she managed Carlisle Gym facilities. Ruth was a bread maker extraordinaire and her cinnamon rolls were a treat to all. She was a great softball player and could out hit most men. Ruth made many of her own clothes as well as those of her family and friends and spent many hours crocheting. She could hunt and fish with the best of them and raised four children while holding down a full time job with Roy away in various locations in the Air Force. Ruth was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 11:30 a.m., French ~ Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd, NE. Pallbearers will be Edward Peerman, Stan Bennett, Jeff Clum, Ronnie Bedwell, Jason Bennett, Jeremiah Clum, Jonathan Clum, and Seth Willis.
