Obituary for ELLIS

Dolores Elaine Ellis will once again be with her beloved husband of 62 years Bernard O. Ellis. Dolores went home to see her savior on February 1, 2010. She was 82 years old. She was born May 3, 1927. Dolores passed away after suffering for an extended amount of time with Alzheimer's disease. She was originally from Brookport, Illinois were she spent her childhood. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1950. As health problems increased she moved to Longmont, CO. to be with her daughter and her husband in 2007. She lived in Colorado until she passed away. She is survived by one daughter Deborah "Starr" Dumas and husband Richard; one Son, Bernard O. Ellis Jr. and wife Markie; four grandchildren, Bryan Ellis and wife Dava, Thomas Ellis, Nathan Dumas and wife Debra and Candice Danique Dumas; six great-grandchildren, Miranda, Dana, Devin, Bailey,Ethan Ellis and Sophie Grace Dumas; sisters-in-law, Juantia Jo Brackett and Margaret Croach; brother-in-law, Buck and his wife Naomi. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard O. Ellis March 10, 2008; grandson, Damion Ellis Dumas on October 14, 2007; her parents, Ellis Mann Croach and Hortense Littlemeyer; and three brothers, Roll Croach and wife Gorgette, Devodry Croach, Charles Croach and wife Margaret. Dolores lived most of her life as a housewife. She was a life time student learning the best diets to loose weight,how to sew draperies as well as any kind of clothing, knit, crochet, quilt and always improving her piano playing skills. She was very dedicated to her Nazarene Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and truly a bible scholar. She played the piano for the church for many years. She was a very devoted Mother and she shared with her children as well as grandchildren an unconditional love. A love that brings security and meaning to our lives. We will miss you mom but we will see you again. Dolores says, "Praise God I'm free at last, to be myself once again!." Funeral services will be handled by Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home on February 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Brookport, Illinois.
