Obituary for YOUNGBERG

Eric Andrew Youngberg, 43, passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 28, 2010. Eric was born in Albuquerque on January 26, 1967, and has now rejoined his father, Ralph Charles Youngberg. Eric was a true friend to many and loved laughter, whether by physical comedy or a well-turned phrase. Eric's keen wit and relentless logic allowed him to cut red tape with just a few words-he made casual conversations more focused, poignant and important. Eric worked as a real estate developer and investor. His passions included golfing, traveling, music, and art-Eric had an undeniable zest for life. Eric graduated from Albuquerque Academy in 1985, and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in accounting from the University of Southern California. He also earned his law degree from the University of New Mexico. Active in his community, Eric served Bernalillo and Sandoval counties in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Representative Youngberg served as Co-Chairman of the Historic Impeachment Commission. He was also an active member of New Mexico Amigos. Eric is survived by his mother, Janet Youngberg; his brother, Leif Craig Youngberg, sister-in-law Kathrin, nephews Niklas Ralph and Alek Charles; his sister, Kristin Marette Youngberg, and nephew, Erik Karl. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, at 2:00 p.m at First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque (215 Locust Street NE). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eric's name to The Albuquerque Academy, 6400 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109, www.aa.edu; or the Explora Children's Museum, 1701 Mountain Road NW Albuquerque, NM 87104.
