Obituary for CAMPBELL

Helen Laskar Campbell, born in San Francisco, CA on March 14, 1913 to immigrant Greek parents, slipped away Sunday, January 24, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson DeWitt Campbell; parents, Basil and Anna Laskar; sister, Olga Laskar Pouls; and brother, Basil (Bill) Laskar; and grandson, David Mark Mick. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Campbell Riggs (Bill), Letha Campbell Young (Olin) and Karen Campbell Mick (David). Her grandchildren are Anna Riggs Eader (David), Margaret Riggs Hanks (Scott), William Riggs (LuRhee), Robert Riggs (Robin), DeWitt Young (Colleen), Chad Young (Debbie), Dennis Mick (Lisa) and Melissa Mick. Great-grandchildren are Ethan Hanks, Zane, Dillion and Garrett Riggs, Kassidy Young, Jessa Young, Brandon and Barrett Mich, Eric, Gina, Xanthe, Josh, Julianne and Bryk Wright. Active in the civic and business community, Helen was the first Executive Secretary of the Belen Chamber of Commerce, headed the Convention Committee for the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, was Secretary of the New Mexico Restaurant Association and worked for the Albuquerque Convention Bureau in her later years. She had been retired for many years and resided at the St. Mary Rest Home where she enthusiastically participated and enjoyed all activities and fellowship. Our sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the St. Mary Rest Home for the loving care they gave to our Mother. She is loved and remembered by all who knew her and will be so missed. In accordance with her wishes, Helen has been cremated and placed with her beloved husband, "Ditty", at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
