Obituary for BROWN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 31, 2010

Mickey Brown, 82, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charlie Brown; her sons Michael and wife Kim of Florida and Chris and wife Carolyn of Nashville; one granddaughter, Shelby of Florida; and her sweet little dog, Precious Pup. Mickey was born in Stockton, CA to Alberto and Elvira Michelotti. She later moved to Sacramento, where she met and married Charlie. With Charlie in the US Air Force and stationed in many different cities, Mickey was an avid volunteer at each base. Some of her activities included Family Services, Thrift Shop management and greeting "new arrivals" with transition services. After Charlie's retirement in 1974, Mickey and her family settled in Albuquerque, where she was involved in YAFL Football, as well as Thunderbird Little League Baseball, holding every board position and serving as president for many years. Mickey had a paper route for the Albuquerque Journal seven days a week for 27 years that she took over from her son, Chris, rarely missing a day up to the morning she died. She had unlimited energy, and an avid curiosity about everything new. Mickey lived a very full, active and happy life, successfully avoiding doctors. Instead, she relied mostly on the healing powers of the body. Friends may visit on Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at French-Wyoming Chapel. A Celebration of Mickey's life will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010, 12:00 p.m., at French ~ Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted at the mortuary or memorial contributions may be made in Mickey's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
