Beryl Le Compte, of Rio Rancho, went to be with the Lord; Monday, January 25, 2010. She was born in Gallup and moved to the Albuquerque area where she graduated from St. Pius X High School. Beryl then graduated from New Mexico State with a degree in Civil Engineering. She worked as a community developer with the Navajo Tribe and also with the Enterprise Foundation, assisting Native American communities. Beryl was a warm, loving person who cared for her family and would open her arms to any stranger. She loved to joke, laugh, dance, watch all of the kids, and will be remembered as a wonderful cook, keeping her family well fed. Beryl is survived by her husband, Craig; daughter, Memoree; parents, Roy and Rose Bitsie; sisters, Geri Loretto and husband Raymond, Tammy Dawes and husband Shaun; brother, Ronnie Bitsie and wife Annie; nieces and nephews, Meredith Abeita, Kylie and Mason Dawes, Sierra, Zoe, and Jesse Bitsie; great-nieces, Lexus and Sakari. She was preceded in death by her sister Jacklyn Bitsie. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, in Rio Rancho, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park and a reception to follow at French~Westside Reception Center.
