Obituary for ASHWILL

Benjamin James Ashwill, age 26, passed away on January 22, 2010. He was a native New Mexican born on September 14, 1983 to Thomas and Donna Ashwill. As a child Ben developed a passion for soccer. His devotion to the game resulted in success on several teams including Classic FC Bandido's, Sandia High School Matadors, and the University of New Mexico Lobos. Ben graduated Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance from the University of New Mexico in 2007. Since then he's worked in construction and accounting. Ben was a kind and loving person, who could always be counted on as a friend, brother, son and uncle. His smile would light up a room and his personality was contagious. His passion for life and his memory will never be forgotten by those who loved him. Ben is survived by his parents, Thomas and Donna Ashwill of Albuquerque, his sisters, Brandi Clark and husband, Jimmy , and son Brody of Lubbock, TX and Tamara Bateson and husband, Jordan, and children Ava, Addison and Colby of Rio Rancho, NM. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Ashwill and maternal grandfather Don Dixon and wife, Connie, four aunts and four uncles; Kathy and Scott Tipton, Carol and Robb Hermes, Trish and Eddie Livingston, Vicki and Ruben Mirabal and seven cousins, Anna and Claire Hermes, Danny, Sara, and Josh Livingston and Justin and Arlene Mirabal. Ben is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joan Dixon and paternal grandfather Walter Ashwill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, with Reverend Clyde Stanfield as the officiant.
