Obituary for SHEA

John F. Shea, 56, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2010, surrounded by family, following a brief illness. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 26, 1953, John moved to Albuquerque in 1971 to attend college and lived most of his life in New Mexico since that time, most recently as General Manager of the Owl Cafe. Best known for his friendly and fun loving personality and entertaining stories, John had a wide circle of friends, both in Albuquerque and throughout the Northeast. John is survived by his brother, Dan Shea and wife Monica; his sisters, Carleen Sullivan and husband Brian and Lisa Salerno and husband Don; his Unc' Harold and auntie Gloria Martin; his cousins, Ski Martin and wife Vickie and Steve Martin and wife Cindy; and his nephews Dan Shea and wife Katrina and Ryan Shea, and Shamus and Brenden Sullivan. Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 26, at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School NE. A reception celebrating John's life will follow at the Sandia Courtyard Hotel, 10300 Hotel Avenue NE.
