Obituary for KENNEDY

CECELIA LEE HALL KENNEDY, age 64, died on January 11, 2010 at 1:15 p.m. from ovarian cancer. She was born on September 2, 1945 in Carlsbad, NM, where she spent her early years on a sheep ranch with her sister, Kathy, parents, and grandparents. These were some of her fondest memories. Lee received her Bachelor of Arts from Houston Baptist University, Magna Cum Laude, area of concentration Art and Psychology. She was an agent for 25 years with State Farm. Lee was a devout participant at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and St. Jerome Catholic Church, having a strong devotion to our Blessed Mother and the Rosary. She was also a supporter of the Down Syndrome Association of Houston, ARC of Spring Branch, and a strong supporter of Life Skills Department at Memorial High School. Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Letha Kate Hall, Lee always placed family first and will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Mark Kennedy; sons, Jon Meadows (age 38), Bryan Meadows (age 36) and wife Lorena, and Michael Kennedy (age 18); and her sister, Kathy Hall Walicek. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2010 in the chapel of Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer, where at 2:30 p.m. a Rosary will be recited. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Drive. Rite of committal will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Lee had many, many supporters in her battle to remain loving caretaker and companion to family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for your constant prayers, compassion and support. The family never felt abandoned nor alone. The family asks that God will bless you all with peace and love and that you know that you are all greatly appreciated and will remain in the family's prayers. The family would, also, like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who placed Lee on church prayer lists, everyone at Memorial High School particularly Christina Watkins and David Leeder.
