Obituary for LUCERO

Gustavo "Jimmy" Lucero, 78, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, lost his battle with cancer with faith, courage, and dignity to the very end, Thursday, January 7, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro; mother, Senaida; son, Michael; and sister-in-law Christina. He is survived by his wife, Libby; daughters, Pamela and husband, Ted Martinez, Patricia and husband, Edward Sena, Paula and husband, Joe Narvaez, Debbie Ortiz, Cynthia Lucero, Nora and husband, Jaime Valdez, Annette Unale and Daniel Armijo, and Cynthia Garcia; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Adolf Lucero and George Lucero and wife, Reyna; several nieces and nephews; and many loved ones. Jimmy was born and raised in Albuquerque. At age 18, he began working for Quality Pontiac prior to serving in the US Army from 1950-1952, and then returned to Quality Pontiac and proudly worked for a total of 43 years. He was a very devout Catholic, son, and father, and was loved and respected by all. He will always and forever live on in the hearts of those he touched with his smile, big heart, and caring ways. A Rosary for Jimmy will be recited on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 also at St. Therese Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Sena, Joe Narvaez, Ted Martinez, Daniel Armijo, Ralph Garcia and Jaime Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Sena, Marc Sena, Chris Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Jeremy Unale, Joshua Unale and Ensermo Valdez.
