Obituary for DUVALL

Edmund "Ned" Duvall, 70, passed away in his home on January 6. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and countless students whose lives he affected. Ned spent his childhood in rural Baltimore County, Maryland. Upon graduating from high school, he served in the US army from 1957 to 1960. He moved to NM in 1970 and graduated from UNM in 1974. "Mr. D" then taught in Albuquerque for 20 years. After his retirement in 1994, he lived in SW Florida for 12 years. Ned returned to Albuquerque in 2006 and "carefully kept track of his aches and pains until his recent demise." He thanks the friends and students he enjoyed life with along the way. As only Ned could, he leaves us with his parting epitaph: "I TOLD YOU THAT POSOLE TASTED FUNNY!" We'll miss you, Ned. Your leadership, character, heart, and humor have touched so many. No memorial services will be held, at his request. In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions in his name to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation in Albuquerque or the charity of your choice.
