James "Jim" R. De Santis, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 2008, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and previously resided in North Bergen, NJ. He is survived by his spouse, Laura (Bitritto) DeSantis; children, Lori Peterkin and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Jamie DeSantis and wife Mindy, of Oak Run, California; grandchildren, Scott, Tara and Lisa Peterkin; Jameson, Harrison, Addison, Madison and Riley DeSantis; brother, Joseph DeSantis; sisters, Virginia Piacentini and Carmela DeSantis. Jim was a pattern engineer in the ladies garment industry and a WWII Army Veteran who served in Hiroshima. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Preferred Assisted Living (checks made payable to APAL, 5500 San Mateo Blvd #114, Albuq. NM 87109) in memory of James DeSantis.
