Obituary for LODGE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday January 07, 2010

Kelly Gene Lodge went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2009. He was born in Ft. Collins, CO on November 28, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ruth Lodge. Kelly was survived by his wife of 37 years, Tamara Morelock Lodge; his daughters, Kelsey and Bruce Hatch, with a baby due in June, Whitney and Beau Hill, and Meghan and Sam Stitt. He had four beautiful grandchildren, Grady and Cassidy Hill, Mackenzie and Shelby Stitt. He is also survived by his two brothers, Larry and wife Pat and Timothy and wife Ginny. As a young man Kelly was active in the Boy Scouts of America, troop 76, and achieved the honor of the Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. Kelly graduated from Valley High School in 1969 and went on to ENMU for his undergraduate and masters. He worked for PNM for 14 years and then for Honeywell until the present. Kelly and Tamara have been together since college. They enjoyed dancing, golfing, and spending time on their boat at Elephant Butte Lake. Kelly loved to spend time with his daughters. He taught them how to water-ski, fish, hunt, and even to dance. Kelly's grandchildren held a special place in his heart. They loved to work on "Papa's" trains or just sit in "Papa's" lap and let him rock them to sleep. The greatest legacy Kelly is leaving behind is a love of the Lord. He put God above all else and has taught his family to do the same thing. Even in his last days, his life was a testimony of the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ. Services for Kelly will be held at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE. Thursday January 7, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Christ Community Fellowship P.O. Box 94196 Albuquerque, NM 87199
