Loyola Baca, passed away in her home in Albuquerque on December 28, 2009, due to a lengthy illness. Loyola Dominguez was born to Patrocinio and Eduvijen Dominguez on July 27, 1940 in San Rafael, NM. At a young age, she married Pete Baca Jr. and gave birth to three sons and one daughter. Loyola worked at various restaurants and eventually opened her own at Chief Rancho. She loved to cook and prepare her special chile. She enjoyed meeting all her customers and formed life long relationships with many of them. After moving to Albuquerque in 1983, she opened up the De Anza Coffee Shop which she ran until 1990 when she established Loyola's Family Restaurant both of which are on Central Avenue. Her success and the loyalty of her customers was due to the care and compassion she instilled in her business ethics along with her outstanding food. She is survived by hers sons, Casper and wife, Cheryl, Lawrence and wife, Angela, of Grants, Joey and wife Barbara of Milan; daughters, Sarah Cordova and husband, Julian of Bosque Farms; grandchildren, Christy, Joshua, Twila, C.J., Derrick, Charm, Jeremy and Desi; great grandchildren, Malyka, Clay, Jayce, Kalea, Brody, Zaryah and Estevan; sisters, Jane Montano, Rita Chavez, Eleanore Dominguez, Pauline Wieder and brother, Pat Dominguez Jr.. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pete Baca Jr., an infant son, brother, Dennis Dominguez, and grandson, Dustin Baca. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 2, 2010, 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
