Alan was a wonderful and loving father, always involved in their lives growing up, from coaching their teams and traveling to tournaments throughout their lives. He had a very loving and open relationship with his children who he loved so much. Alan was immensely proud of all their accomplishments in life and extremely forgiving of life's little mishaps. He was even more loving to his wife of 26 years, Pam and so proud of her recent graduation from UNM. He kept a special closeness with his sisters which he always treasured. Alan was recognized in the community not only by his voice but by his enthusiastic personality and spirit. He touched the lives of strangers and friends alike. Alan was a very self-less person who spent a large part of his life volunteering and helping others and never asking for anything in return. He began by serving on the UNM Children's Hospital Board for two years. Alan served on the board and helped with the opening of Sunset Little League in 1995. He was involved in community projects within RRPS and the City of Rio Rancho to ensure that kids had the opportunities and places to play sports. In recognition of all Alan has done for Rio Rancho Public Schools he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year in 2009. Alan will be truly missed by all who ever met him.
