Obituary for HERRERA

Priscilla Baca Herrera, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 21, 2009, after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Clovis; her son, Jerry and his wife, Carol; and her daughter, June Hixson and her husband, Terry. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Dawn Walpole, and her husband, Mark; Ryan Hixson; Krista Hixson; and Jeff Herrera; and also by her much loved great-grandson, Matthew Walpole. Priscilla was the tireless director of Volunteer Services at the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School for over 25 years, until its closure in the 1990s. For the past 22 years, she has taught catechism at St. Augustine, most recently serving as its Director of Religious Education. A rosary is planned for Monday, December 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Church in Isleta, with mass hosted by her dear and esteemed friend, Father Hilaire Valiquette, on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Augustine Parish CCD Program at P.O. Box 849, Isleta, New Mexico, 87022.
