Merlyn D. "Woody" Underwood, 86, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean; son, Mark D Underwood and wife, Mary; granddaughter, Sarah Rangel and husband, George; great grandchildren, Samuel Eli and Hannah Rose; sister, Dorothy Jones; and many other family and friends. Woody was preceded in death by his children, Barbara Jean and Donald Davis; his parents Merle and Nellie; and his brother Lloyd. Mr. Underwood retired from the United States Air Force in 1968, serving in both WW II and the Korean Conflict. Services will be held Monday, December 21, 2009, 10:00 am, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel with private burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
