Col. George Thomas Kupper, USMC, (Ret.), passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009. "Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal." Thomas Moore. George was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on November 15, 1936, to George and Eva Kupper. He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota and the University of Arizona. George's professional career was with Sandia National Laboratory. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Alison, and a sister, Gloria. George is survived by his wife, Karen; and daughters, Julie and husband, Shawn Mullen and their children Jack, Gabriella and Sean Angelina; Kara and husband, Richard Dannenberg and their daughters, Ashley and Anna; Laura and husband, Dan Holton and their children, Eva, Jacob, Talullah and Layla. He is also survived by his sisters, Delores Wagner and husband, Bernard, Fay Domek, and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary and Prayer Service will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd, Chapel, on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd NE. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday. Following Mass, a reception will held in the Church Hall. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, P.O. Box 227, Quantico, VA 22134-5176, or to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of Shrine of St. Bernadette.
