Rosa Maria Rivas, 90, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2009. Rose is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fermin Rivas; brothers, Perciliano Romero; Serafin (Ali) Romero; Alexandro Romero; and sister, Marie Romero. Rose was born in San Marcial, NM. She was the daughter of Geronimo and Virginia Romero of Socorro,NM. She is survived by her sons, Andy Rivas and wife, Terry, Michael Rivas and wife, Lucille; five grandchildren, Rick, Peter, Monico, Julie, Rudy; and several great-grandchildren. Rose will be missed by her family. We will miss all her great cooking. She loved entertaining Friends and Family. She loved a good party, especially if it was at her house. Rose was a volunteer foster grandparent at Lowell Elementary. She loved the Children and they loved her. A Rosary will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at San Miguel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection immediately following. Father Andy Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will take place in the San Miguel Cemetery in Socorro. Pallbearers are Rick Rivas, Peter Rivas, Leroy Lopez, Lawrence Rafael, Peter Garcia, Monico Rivas, and Timothy Rivas.
