Julia Belle Alan, 8, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 at NY-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Julia was born November 24, 2001 at the Naval Hospital at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. In the short time she was here on earth, she lived in Jacksonville, N.C.; Lincoln, Neb.; and Rio Rancho, N.M. Julia attended North American Martyrs Church Preschool in Lincoln, Neb., Enchanted Hills Elementary and Sandia Vista Elementary Schools in Rio Rancho, N.M. She was a member of Girl Scout Troop #3291, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Julia loved animals and dinosaurs, hiking, art, swimming, and making others happy. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard J. Alan, M.D. Julia is survived by her parents, Todd J. Alan, M.D. and Jennifer R. Sahlstein Alan; siblings, Kyle, Brian, Lauren, and Daniel; grandparents, Sharon A. Alan of Glendale, Calif. Arthur E. and Dorothy D. Sahlstein of Bellevue, Neb.; aunts and uncles, Craig Alan of Glendale, Calif., Michelle and Frank Galanti of Simi Valley, Calif., Thomas and Ann Alan of Sacramento, Calif., Kathryn and James Franklin of Universal City, Texas, Arthur Sahlstein of Euless, Texas, Sandra and Todd Lemke of Papillion, Neb., and Erin Sahlstein of Las Vegas, Nev.; cousins, Richard, Joshua and Ashley Galanti of Simi Valley, Calif., Calista and Dylan Alan of Sacramento, Calif., Geoff and Susan Franklin of Glendale, Ariz., David Franklin of New York City, N.Y., Alissa and Jody Watts of Green Sea, N.C., Trey Sahlstein of Euless, Texas, Oliva Sahlstein of Euless, Texas, and Casey and Chad Lemke of Papillion, Neb.; her dog, Coulter and gecko, Jules.
