Obituary for SIERRA

John Sierra, 78, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1931 in Albuquerque, a son of Guadalupe and Clara Sierra. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of 56 years. Other survivors include, three sons and two daughters, Johnny and his wife, Lorraine, Robert, Cindy and husband, Ed, Elizabeth and husband, Robbie and Edward Sierra, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Guadalupe and wife, Annie Sierra, Mike and wife, Juanita Sierra, Mary Trujillo and Virginia Castillo, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Mateo Sierra and Elodia Sanchez. The Holy Rosary will be recited Monday, November 30, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Road NW. Interment will take place, Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Sierra, Daniel Sierra, Eric Rubidoux, Marc Herrera, Richard Herrera, Matthew Garcia, Andy Barela and Andrew Sierra.
