Meredith Hannah, 89, of Albuquerque, and formerly of Portland, Oregon, beloved sister and aunt, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Meredith was born on September 13, 1920 in Great Falls, Montana to Anna and Gerhard Meal. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1938 and received her Bachelor's degree in Music from St. Olaf College in 1942. She began her long and distinguished career in 1942 as an Interviewer for the Montana State Employment Service. In 1951, Meredith entered the Mehl Plumbing Company as an Office Manager. She became the personnel manager for Fred Meyer, a large retail sales company in 1957 and retired in 1984. Meredith married Elwood (Woody) Hannah on April 29, 1960. They had a happy 34 year marriage until Woody passed away on February 22, 1994. She moved to Albuquerque in November of 1994 and was a past president of the Albuquerque Newcomers Club. Also in Albuquerque Meredith attended Faith Lutheran Church. She became a member of Soroptimist International of Portland in 1965 and also served as a past president. A gifted amateur photographer, she joined the Photographic Society of America in 1974 and was a past chair of the Pictorial Print Division. Meredith is survived by her brother, Clarence R. Mehl; nephew Ian M. Mehl; and nieces Karen M. Bush and Nina E. Mehl; as well as ten great nephews and nieces and two great-great nieces.
