Obituary for COLEMAN

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 22, 2009

Elizabeth G. Coleman (Liz) went to be with her maker on November 18, 2009. Liz was born in Lurgan, Ireland on October 24, 1931. Her parents were John and Isabell Grabbon also from Ireland. She came to the USA at the young age of 15 years and lived in New York for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Coleman. She and Roy moved to Florida for a few years and then came to New Mexico in 1999. They fell in love with New Mexico from the very beginning. Liz was active as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and several other organizations. She was a member of WIT (Widowed in Transition Group) for about two years and enjoyed meeting many new friends. She had no family. Liz leaves a dear friend Teri Shirell who was with her all through her illness. Liz had a terrific wit about her and she will be missed by all who knew her. She was a homemaker and always stated when asked where she was retired from "a homemaker/housewife never retires." She was a great cat lover and will be missed by them - she named them after Ronald Coleman, the great actor of the '40-50's who had her last name; Susie who has 25 toes and Sheba who had her own personality. Per Liz' request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Teri would like to thank the Presbyterian Hospice Unit at Anna Kaseman for the wonderful care they gave Liz and to thank the Cancer doctors and her oncologists. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of your choice. Please visit our online guestbook for Liz at www.RememberTheirStory.com French 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE (505) 275-3500
