Obituary for SORRELL

Madelyn Martin Sorrell, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2009, after a long and valiant struggle with muscle disease. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Martin; three children: John, Angela, and Lincoln; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and by several treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 2, 1927 and lived in San Diego, Denver and Cleveland before moving to Albuquerque in 1966. She worked at Sandia Laboratories from 1976 to 1993. Madelyn's zest for life, shining smile, and gentle yet strong nature will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd. N.E., Albuquerque, NM, on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
