Obituary for MARTINEZ

Fela Rafaelita, age 85, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, went peacefully to meet her Lord on Friday, November 13, 2009. She looked forward to Sunday morning when Eucharistic Ministers came to visit her and give her communion. Fela loved to go to the Senior Citizen Center where she had a lot of friends. She liked to play Spanish bingo. Fela loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, and loved for them to make her laugh. Fela loved to color and collected pictures of everybody that would give her one. She also loved to go to family gatherings. Fela helped all the family raise their children. They loved her dearly and they will always have fond memories. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eufracio and Rafaelita Martinez; mama Aurora Martinez; brother, Charley Martinez and several nieces and nephews. Fela is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Chavez and husband, Fermin of Espanola, NM, Mayme Gonzales and husband Luz of Hobbs, NM, Dolores Marquez and husband, Frank of Belen, NM, and Geraldine Martinez and husband, Nat Martinez of Los Lunas; brother, Silverio of Arkansas; and special cousins, Erlinda Moya, Lina Connelly. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All services will be held at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church, in Los Lunas, on Sunday, November 15, beginning with a viewing at 4:30 p.m. and a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Monday, November 16, at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bart Sandoval, Leroy and Frankie Marquez, Gordon Martinez, Gary Chavez and Boni Saiz. Honorary pallbearers will be all her loving nieces and nephews.
