Richard George Betin, 56, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. Richard was the youngest in a family of two sisters and a brother. His family emigrated from Europe after World War II to Texas, where Richard was the first of his family to be born a US citizen. He was born in Dallas in 1953 and spent his early years in Dallas And Austin, graduating from high school and attending Eastfield College and the University of Texas at Austin. Richard was a technician and foreman in the air conditioning business before changing careers to the microprocessor industry and moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was proud of the work he and his fellow team members performed and was fortunate to work on several innovative processes. He was a well-respected team member of Intel for more than 15 years at the time of his sudden death. Richard had many interests, especially travel and the outdoors. He never spoke unkindly of others. He was an attentive uncle and great uncle to his nieces and nephews in Texas. His passing has left a hole in the hearts of those who loved him and he will be deeply missed by his entire family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother John of Denver, CO; his sister Irene of Aurora, CO, sister, Barbara and husband Mark Macha of Highland Village, TX; along with aunts, and uncle, nieces and other family members.
