Laura E. Beatty, 80, moved from life here on earth to eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a brief illness with cancer. Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Luther Z Beatty "Luke"; infant son Kevin Lane Beatty; her granddaughter Sarah Bethany Shelton; brother Paul E Elmore; and her parents Paul H and Annie Laura Elmore. She is survived by her children Sandra Watson of Odessa, TX, David Beatty of Oklahoma City, OK, and Diane Shelton and husband Ira of Quemado, NM, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Laura was an active member of Monterey Baptist Church for 27 years where she worked with the Keenagers for more than 15 years. Services will be Tuesday, 10:30 am, November 16, 2009 at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd NE, with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monterey Baptist Church building fund.
