Obituary for GOOD

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday November 13, 2009

Sean Michael Good, 22, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Houston, Texas where he was born on June 24, 1987. He lived in Texas until moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1997. Sean is deeply loved and was survived by his father Phillip and stepmother Cindy Good of League City, Texas; mother, Sharon and stepfather Gary Sanders of, Albuquerque, New Mexico; beloved brother, Ryan Eric Good; grandparents, Burl Good, Yvonne and Glen Allen and Joseph and Angela Jacquez; and numerous other loving family and friends. Sean was a member of the 2005 graduating class at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque. He was a student at the University of New Mexico and his goal was to pursue a degree in Engineering. Sean loved being a student, at which he excelled, was a member of honorary fraternities, and consistently made the Dean's list. His interests ranged widely and he loved learning. He worked as a reporter for the UNM Daily Lobo. Sean loved sharing an apartment in the UNM area with his best friend, brother, Ryan whom he looked up to, respected greatly, and wanted to be like. Sean was highly creative and had an awesome sense of humor. He loved Sponge Bob, Avatar, Breaking Bad (was thrilled to have met the crew and Brian Cranston on film location), Family Guy, and Flight of the Conchords. He could quote dialogue from any episode from any season of Seinfeld. Sean had a unique personality and a special charm that touched everybody that he met. He was generous, kind, and thoughtful. He loved kids and was often found at the "kid table" at any family event. He loved his dog, Bear, his running and study buddy. He enjoyed playing his guitar and writing his own music. Music, his artwork, and movies were his loves but his greatest love was the Lord. From Sean's MySpace site, he said, "I am obsessed with Jesus Christ and I am trying hard to follow Him". Sean struggled with ADD and used Ritalin as a means to realize his full potential, which was extremely important to him. This eventually led to a painful addiction which he courageously fought and tried to control. It was a battle that he lost and he died of an accidental overdose. This drug is prescribed as a medicine but is also one of the top 10 addictive drugs. We hope each parent understands the risks of treating their child with this drug or any amphetamine-based medicine. This addiction took Sean's life, but now he is at peace. We know God took his pain away and he is in heaven now with his family and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at The Church of the Risen Savior at 3:00 p.m., 7701 Wyoming Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
