Gordon McClain Bond, Jr., 62, was born April 26, 1947 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "Gordo" passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque on Friday, November 6, 2009. As a member of a pioneer ranching family, Gordo was raised on numerous ranches in New Mexico including the Valle Grande near Los Alamos, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon McClain Bond, Sr., Flora Cannon Bond, and his beloved dogs Rambo, Dolly, Baby Doll, and Georgia. He is survived by his children, Gordon "McClain" Bond, III and Louise "Ramsey" Bond; his sister Flora Bond Kubiak, her husband John Kubiak and his four nephews, Matthew, Simon, John and Peter Kubiak. Gordo attended NMMI, UNM and Cochise College. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at UNM. He owned and operated Rio Grande Air Charter Service in Taos, New Mexico. He also started a bottled water company called Taos Mountain Water. He had a passion for flying small planes and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was an adventurous man who loved to travel all over the world. Please join us for a "Celebration of Gordo's Life"; which will be held at Paul's Monterrey Inn, one of his favorite watering holes, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Paul's is located at 1000 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. He will be missed by many family and friends.
