Obituary for DAVIS

John C. Davis, pilot, and longtime Albuquerque resident, made his last takeoff on October 29, 2009 after a brief illness. John was born in Chelsea, OK, and grew up on his grandfather's ranch in Kenna, NM. He attended Oklahoma A&M and joined the Army Air Corps at the outbreak of WWII. He served with the 504th Bomb Group based on Tinian Island. He married Caroline Bonnet in 1947 and worked in the heavy equipment industry for many years. In the mid '50s John and his family lived in Chile for several years. John was a good man, a good friend, and an enthusiastic flyer. He was a member of QBs. He appreciated pretty ladies and big band music. He loved old dogs, old cars, and old airplanes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline; and his son, Chris. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Carey, of Denver, CO; and his granddaughter, Caitlin Canotas, of San Francisco, CA. There will be a life celebration at a later date.
